We’re pretty damn excited and you should be too! We’re proud sponsors of the NYC Photo Hack Day that will go down August 20th and 21st in General Assembly, NYC. 

A bunch of amazing developers and designers will get together for two days and work on building a set of photo apps using APIs from 500px, Foursquare, Instagram, SmugMug, Tumblr and… (drumroll)…yes, Piictu! You can read more about the event in the Photo Hack Day website.

so why the extra excitement? The winner of the hackathon will have their app displayed on NASDAQ’s Times Square Billboard (seriously!). 2nd, 3rd, and People’s Choice winners will also receive cash prizes!

The first thing you should know is that piictu is part of the TechStars program. Over 1000 companies apply, and only 12 are accepted. These 12 companies share office space at the TechStars headquarters, which is located right by Union Square in NYC. 

As for the piictu space in particular, here are a couple of snapshots from our working area.
